Please be reminded to that Monday 4th November is inset day and therefore, school will be closed to all pupils.

Please remember that dogs are not allowed on school grounds, which include the area in front of Wild gates and/or outside the main black gates, even when on a lead or carried.

Please ensure all dogs are tied to designated hooks located at the front of the school (school drive) by the car park gates.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Breakfast and After School Club - Bookings after half term

Places are available to book in both Breakfast and After School Club until February half term.

If you have not already booked and know that you will require either club, please log on to your child's Scopay account to book as soon as possible.

We have lots of exciting activities planned at The Den in the run up to Christmas and spaces are filling fast so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Individual and Sibling Photos

All photo proofs have now been issued to classes today and will have come home with your child. If you do not receive it or if your child has been absent, please double check with your child's teacher, who will have these in class.

The deadline for ordering photos is Monday 4th November.

As a reminder, if your child was absent for the school photo session this week, we will be running a catch up for absentees on the morning of Wednesday 23rd October.

School Drop Off/Collection

Please can we remind parents and carers to be considerate when parking at drop off and pick up times on roads surrounding the school.

Please ensure that you only park on public roads and never block access to someone’s property or create an obstruction to the emergency services.

Please do not park or pull up on the yellow zig zag outside school at any time.

For those needing to cross the road, to further support Mr Ken in keeping you all safe, please can we ask that all parents use the crossroads to cross, not walk across the road directly outside school.

Autumn Learning Reviews - Bookings Close on Wednesday 23rd October 2024

Learning Reviews for all year groups will take place virtually again this term, between Monday 4th November and Thursday 7th November.

Please see the below schedule for class specific dates/times.

We will once again be using SchoolCloud which acts as a platform for hosting our online virtual Learning Reviews. This allows you to choose your own appointment times with teachers and you will receive an email confirming your appointments - please do keep a note of your appointment time but just in case, you will receive a reminder notification on the day.

Bookings will be open until Wednesday 23rd October at 9pm, when the system will close.

As learning reviews are in place to benefit your child(ren)'s learning, we strongly encourage parents/guardians to book a learning review.

Please click here to access the booking system to book your child's appointment.

Please note, the system will only allow you to book one appointment per child. If you wish to invite one additional parent to join the meeting virtually, you may do so by following these instructions. We highly recommend reading the instructions and watching the short video guide, so you know how to use the system and to familiarise yourselves with what will happen on the day.

For split families, if you are having problems booking an appointment, please email Miss Blatch in the office (lauren.blatch@hordleprimary.co.uk) who can assist further.

Additional Info:

Timeslots on the day are managed automatically by the SchoolCloud system and are therefore strictly limited to your allotted time.

At the end of your Learning Review the session will automatically end, this cannot be manually overridden.

Please ensure that you log in giving yourself time to test your camera and audio so that you have the maximum time with your child's teacher.

Bookings are made via Schoolcloud. You will receive a booking confirmation, as well as a subsequent, on the day reminder from Schoolcloud directly.

Please make a note of your child's date/time as we are very restricted with appointment availability, should you miss your review.

BBC Young Writers Competition

The BBC’s annual young writers’ competition is open for entries and we would LOVE Team Hordle to get involved!

Pupils are encouraged to write a story they would love to read themselves. With two age categories (5-7 and 8-11 year-olds), lots of prizes to win and a grand final at Buckingham Palace.

Entries close on Friday 8 November 2024 at 9pm.

Pathway Through Church

We respectfully remind you that all users of the pathway through the Churchyard, take full responsibility for themselves while on Church property, particularly now the weather is changing and the evenings becoming darker.

Hordle Hub Clubs - Collection from Autumn 2

A gentle reminder that after October half term, children will not be allowed to walk home alone after clubs or wait outside the school gates alone, due to the dark evenings and our safeguarding policy.

If required, please ensure your pick up protocol is updated with any adults who have permission to collect from school and after school clubs.

Children must be collected directly from clubs and will not be released without an adult present.

Following the recent update to the Penalty Notice Framework, Miss Trim has kindly put together a helpful leaflet to outline the important changes and how the penalty notice system will work. The leaflet can be found here.
